Talking About Time

I know it has been a while since I have taken the 'time' to blog on KICKS Club's web page. So, what is the most convenient thing to talk about in this blog today but, time? It seems funny to think that no matter where you are in the world, we are operating under one system that is completely united. No matter what language you speak, 'time' is still understood on all continents and in the lives of all people. That 'measure of time' that arrives by the sun's rising and the sun's setting was created by our God. What a glorious 'measure' He has authored to line and fashion our days with!

Psalm 19:1-6 tells about the sun going forth from one end of the heaven to another. It tells us that day and night are uttering God's speech, (His word), to us and, that it goes out to the end of the world. This is telling us that God is the author of day and night. He is the author of 'time'. Every moment ticks and tocks with the heartbeat of His speech that says, "Let there be", and there was. God's handiwork is what Psalm 19 calls it and tells us that the very creation of these heavens declare God's glory for us to see and experience. Time with God's hand in it is blessed and empowered to prosper in our lives. It is a language that the entire earth can understand! The language of God's creation that He has set into motion in and for each and every one of us.

Even the devil knows about time. He also falls under a 'measure of time'. The Bible says in Revelation that he knows his 'time' is short. Think about that. His time is short and he knows it! Therefore he comes on under the pressure that he is out of time 'all the time'. Even the demons recognized Jesus and said, "It's not our time..." What time were they talking about? The time they know is coming that is, the time of their eternal punishment. If the devil knows his time is short, and the demons know there is an appointed time to begin their eternal punishment, then they obviously are taking advantage of a 'measure of time'. Yet, the Bible tells us in Eph. 5:14-18 that we can "redeem the time" because of Jesus Christ and His victory over the devil.

It tells us in those verses that we can walk circumspectly, with great understanding because 'Christ' will give us light to know the will of the Lord. Knowing the will of the Lord is a part of filling our time with the right things. It goes on to tell us that there is power in redeeming time through; walking and living by the Power of the Holy Spirit, making melody in our hearts to the Lord, ('praising Him'), speaking psalms and hymns to one another, and... 'giving thanks always unto the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ".

Let's experience God's redeeming power in time. He fed a multitude of over 15,000 (5,000 men and their families) with five loaves and two fish! He did it with only 12 waiters at dinner time!!! With His hand and power in operation we can do more things in a small amount of time in a day through faith in His strength, rather than our own. I am going to have faith in the author of time itself and experience that time culminating power in my life today. How about you?
