He NEVER Leaves Us Without!

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)

I was reflecting on the scripture, Hebrews 13:5 today. Have you ever thought about what it means? It talks about your conversation being without coveting~ this I would suppose means without desiring something someone else has. It goes on to tell that we are to be content with what we have BECAUSE Jesus has said, "I will never leave you or forsake you." That seems to be an interesting connection that is worth meditating on.

I can see how the two relate. It is saying that our conversation is to be without covetousness in that the Lord takes care of all our needs. It does seem odd if we don't reflect on how they relate that these two points are in a scripture that would connect them together. "No coveting" because He will never leave us? How does that compute?

It's an interesting point for the day to meditate and study. One thing the Lord is saying as the main point is how He provides for us and brings us all we need in any area of our lives and that "He will never leave us" 'without'. Therefore, there is no need to covet or make conversation of 'need' in light of what others have and what 'we do not have' in our own eyes. He does not want us to be doing comparison viewing of His provision or 'lack' or provision that we could determine through covetousness. Covetousness is lack thinking through jealousy. We are to rejoice in the blessing and harvest others have received keeping our eyes on Him to provide and supply our harvest and blessing too. All things we have been blessed with come through Him and His goodness. We just need to continue to sow seed and live a life that is an outpouring of His goodness to others and openly receive His goodness for ourselves.

The Lord is making it very clear that He will never leave us in any area that we may feel 'lack'. I would think that someone covets because they feel lack and feel they are without something. It seems through this scripture that the Lord is making it clear that "He is the suppler" and that we need to resist lack, resist the feeling of lack, the view of lack, the thoughts of lack, and that He does not want us talking or confessing lack with a conversation of covetousness! If we covet we are not looking to Him as our supply. It is as if we are saying that He has left us, and has forsaken us and is not with us to supply and care for our every area, especially the area we are coveting in. We need to realize that He is with us to supply and produce everything we need, everything we desire, with every need meet. He also promises to give us the desires of our heart. What do we have to loose, or be without?

HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US, we will never be "without"... I think this verse is speaking something powerful and the Lord wants us to know that, "We are never without because we are never without Him!" In that we have contentment!

Prayer and Confession based on Hebrews 13:5:

"Lord, I thank You that You will never leave us. You will never leave my kids, You will never leave my family, and You will never leave me or my ministry without. You are the complete provision of every area of our lives and in You we find contentment in all things. You also give me and my kids, and my family the desires of our heart through Your provision. Thank you Lord for Your provision in all things for us. Thank You Lord for providing for us in every area. I ask You Lord to put a guard over my mouth that I will not speak out of "lack", or speak out of what appears that we do not have in light of others, for You are our provision and You have meet all our needs by Your riches in glory! Thank you for meeting my family's needs, our ministry needs and filling our lives with Your provision and blessing. In Jesus Name, AMEN!"
