In A Nutshell

Today my friend Ralph asked me how I felt about the country we live in. I thought for a minute and answered with this.
"I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Pretty Cool Huh?

Be a bounce back buddy

The other day Ralph really made me angry, he took the last cookie in the cookie jar. I know what you are thinking, "What's the big deal Elmer?" Well the fact is other than being my most favorite cookie, nothing. But it sure was a big deal then. I said some things to Ralph that were mean and unkind and as soon as those words came out of my mouth I knew I was wrong. So I stomped out of the kitchen and went and pouted about it. Then God spoke to me and said, "ELMER!" ( it seemed like it was in all upper case letters and kinda loud). He said, "Is a cookie worth your friendship with Ralph and more importantly your relationship with me?" I said, "No!" I then decided I needed to be a 'bounce back buddie'! So, I went right in and repented to Ralph for being so silly and selfish. I think God wants us to all be 'bounce back buddies' and forgive each other all the time, everyday, every minute.

Okay... Later gator, Elmer

Renewed!

Did you notice that your mom and dad's car license has to be renewed every year? They have to renew the license so they can continue to drive the car, just like they have been. This makes me think about my relationship with Jesus and how I need to renew it on a regular basis. Not that I have to pay a fee to Him or anything like that but I do want Jesus to keep "drivin' me" and be the numero uno in my life. You know, "number one?" So, I renew my relationship with Him everyday by prayer and reading His Word (the Bible). I think it's a good thing to always stay 'current' with God. Then we can have "His" 'current events' hee hee... Don't YOU?

Just me Elmer, "chillin', lookin' at the ceilin'".

A New Zoe!

WOW!
A new KICKS Club dog?

Today Zoe got a haircut and he looks like a new pooch. I think that's how we are when we allow God to do us over. The Bible says He makes all things new. WOW! That's really cool. I don't mean He will make you into a new pooch silly. :-) I mean He will make you into a new person inside, kinda like a load of laundry when it gets washed. It's the same cloths but just fresh and clean. That's COOL like that!!!!

God Bless ya and scrub ya clean!

Picture This...

Why do people make such funny faces all the time? If I had a camera I could sure show you some of the silliest, funny, and even ugly and mean faces you have ever seen. I'm going to start working on looking happy more of the time. You know I've heard it said that the outward expression is a reflection of an inward condition. We should all show the love of Jesus on our faces if he's living inside us. WOW! what a concept. Later Gators and Gatorettes.....

Happy Trails!

I was trying to find a nut and bolt in the garage today to fix my bike. Wow! I didn't know how many sizes and types there are! Some are hex head or Phillips or straight, fine thread or coarse, not to mention all the different sizes. I spent more time looking for the right nut and bolt then I did fixing my bike. I think the lesson I learned is sometimes you need to ask someone to help you so you don't waste so much time trying yourself. If I would have asked Ralph to help me I would have had more time to ride my bike. God is always there to help us with stuff if we just ask Him, and I think that's way cool! So, if you ask Him the way and trust Him, then you will be on the right trail. My trail bike didn't get much riding because I had to do it all myself. But next time, I will get help so I can do more trail riding. Happy Trails! I'm outta here.....
